TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please read these terms and conditions carefully before hiring. Client agrees to the terms and conditions of this agreement automatically when hiring.
PAYMENT:
Full payment must be made to secure a garment, until payment is received the garment is still available for anyone to book.
Once payment is received no refunds can be made under any circumstances. It is the responsibility of the client to try on the garment before booking to know their size requirements. Store credits are given out under most circumstances.
PICK UPS, RETURNS, LATE FEES AND APPOINTMENTS
ALL hires are picked up from THE GOWN GODS
ALL hires MUST be returned to THE GOWN GODS
ALL hires are required to be returned by 5PM the following day.
TGG is strictly by appointment this includes pickup/drop off
TGG staff are permitted to close the store early if no appointments have been booked.
To book please head to our website, click 'book an appointment' select 'hire pickup/drop-off', select the date and time you are picking up and dropping the garment off. Or you can call our staff to book an appointment for you.
*exceptions for a later drop off date can be made if arranged with TGG prior.
Our store is closed and unstaffed Sundays and Mondays - you will be required to drop the gown off during our open days Tues-Sat.
Your hire period is 3 days (pickup day, wear day and return day.) For hires being picked up on a Friday or Saturday you will be required to return the gown Tuesday. If your wear date is Tuesday you will return the gown Wednesday and so fourth.
Please only call & text our emergency contact at bottom of page if in a case of an emergency (outside staffed hours) If we are open please call our store number.
If a garment is not returned on designated due date and time a late fee of $20 will be charged to the client PER DAY.
Alternate arrangements for the rental period in special circumstances can be arranged with TGG prior to the rental period.
All hires must be returned in the same bag/coat hanger they were collected in.
If the client doesn’t return the garment in time for the next hire following their booking the client must pay for the refund of the client who missed their hire if that is what the next client desires.
SCHOOL REGISTER
The Gown Gods no longer follows a school registry as we are now a hire and purchase company.
I understand that The Gown Gods may hire or sell the same gown as purchased to someone going to my school
I understand that The Gown Gods does not have control of other companies hiring or borrowing second hand dresses and wearing them to my event that may
be the same as the gown I have purchased.
CLEANING
General cleaning is included in the hire cost.
By hiring the garment, the client agrees that they will not attempt to clean the garment. If the garment has been damaged through any cleaning attempts, the client will be charged a fee up to the RRP, determined by TGG.
If a garment has been stained and needs to be dry cleaned, client agrees to pay additional cost for dry cleaning. If the garment cannot be cleaned completely by our dry cleaners the client will pay the full RRP to replace the garment.
DAMAGES
TGG determines whether damage is “minor” or “major”.
It is expected that all garments are returned in the condition
that they were received by the client from TGG.
If a garment is returned with minor damage that can be repaired- the client agrees to pay for the repair (in addition to the hire price). The cost of such repairs will be determined by TGG.
If a garment is returned with major damage, either beyond
repair or ruined (as determined by TGG), the client agrees to pay the full replacement cost of the garment (in addition to the hire price). This must be paid within 7 days of the garment being returned. The Client agrees that TGG may decide to keep the garment.
If a client damages a garment prior to it’s next hire and it cannot be repaired/replaced/cleaned in time for it’s next booking then the client must cover the cost of the refund if that is what the next client desires who’s hire must now be cancelled.
Clients acknowledge that they are wearing second-hand garments
that have been worn by other people, therefore some wear and tear is to be expected. TGG will not provide refunds or credits for garments that have normal wear and tear consistent with a level to be expected of a hire garment. Client also acknowledges that their chosen garment may be worn by other customers prior to their own ball, any stretching or minor damages to the gown isn't the fault of TGG. The length of the garment also is "as is."
If your gown has been damaged beyond repair by another customer and can't be replaced on time for your wear date this isn't the fault of TGG. TGG will do our best to assist you in a circumstance like this.

STORE CREDITS
Strictly no refunds.
For hires cancelled due to an event cancellation the client can cancel their booking in exchange for a store hire-credit of amount paid. This will be valid for 12 months from the date of cancellation.
Once a hire is placed using a credit, it is final and cannot be swapped/amended or cancelled for another credit note. If the price of the newly chosen garment is less than the previous the client forfeits the difference in price. If the price is more on the newly chosen garment then the difference is payed by the client. Credits cannot be transferred to another client and/or used by someone other then the client who received the credit.
If the client is notified of additional fees owed to TGG, such as damage fees, they must pay within 24 hours. The client will automatically be charged via their credit card on file if they fail to pay within this time frame.
Store credits are given under most circumstances. If the client changes their mind or a garment doesn’t fit before trying on before hand you DO NOT qualify for a store credit.
Store credits are valid for 12 months from the date given.
CANCELLATION POLICY -
A client can cancel up to 48 hours before the pick up day to receive a store credit. After this time, there are no refunds or store credits given and the client forfeits the hire.
LATE FEES
A late fee of $20 will incur each day the garment isn't returned.
The Gown Gods also sells brand new dresses, if your gown is available to buy we recommend you purchasing a new gown for your event. That way if you damage it you get to keep it- if you damage a hire gown beyond repaid you must pay the full price PLUS the cost of hire and we may decide to keep the garment.
Client must accept the risk of hiring second hand garments and will not put any fault on The Gown Gods if their chosen gown is damaged before wear date. Client understands once the gown is out of the store it is completely out of TGG's hands what the client does with the garment and if they damage it.
